CPEC best example of South-South cooperation, says PM Nawaz Sharif

NEW YORK (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Sunday said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project is a best example of South-South cooperation and the project will bring huge economic and development benefits to entire region and beyond. Addressing a Roundtable on South-South Cooperation in New York on Sunday he said that Pakistan considers South-South cooperation in trade, investment, human resource development, technology and financial resource generation in its interest. The prime minister said that strengthening of institutional support from the UN System will help maximize the impact of South-South cooperation. Nawaz Sharif while praising the Chinese President Xi Jinping, said that not only Pakistan and China but the whole region will benefit from the project. He stressed inter-state cooperation to put the region on the track of development and prosperity. The Prime Minister said that the established principles and provisions of South-South Cooperation should continue to guide this collaborative framework, adding that this gathering had come at a pivotal moment and together, an enormous effort had been made to make the Post-2015 Development Agenda responsive to the challenges and aspirations. On the other hand, talking to media Aizaz Chaudhry has on Sunday described the prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Swedish Prime Minister Stefen lofve and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena.
