CPEC Business Advisory Council to be formed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting on Friday to review progress on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The meeting decided to form a CPEC Business Advisory Council. While stressing the need for early completion of the CPEC projects, directed the Board of Investment’s chairman to present a comprehensive plan for swift development of special economic zones (SEZs) in the country. The meeting reviewed progress on Pak-China cooperation in the areas of Industrial development, Special Economic Zones, ML-1 project, Agriculture Development, Socio-economic Development, Infrastructure Development and Gwadar development. The prime minister said Pak-China cooperation in industrial development and agriculture sector would help realizing country's potential in these sectors. He stressed upon the need to further expedite progress on various projects Under the CPEC. PM Khan said early completion of China pakistan Economic Corridor related project is in Pakistan's interest as it would bring huge socio-economic opportunities to the people. He said Pakistan can greatly benefit from Chinese experience of extricating its people from poverty traps. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will enhance links between the Middle East and Gulf countries. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of China International Import Exhibition (CIIE), he said that they want to enforce the system of accountability and transparency.
