CPEC project is manifestation of Pak-China friendship, says Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan reviewed progress on different projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Addressing a meeting on Wednesday, he said that CPEC is a manifestation of Pak-China friendship. “It’s our top priority to remove hurdles in the CPEC project,” he said. The prime minister expressed the confidence that his upcoming visit to China and talks with the Chinese leadership will prove to be vital to further promote and strengthen relations between the two countries. The meeting also discussed the ways to promote bilateral cooperation in different departments, including economy. It was briefed about digital payment, battery storage, manufacturing of agricultural equipment, drone technology, solar cell manufacturing and research on plants and animals. Minister for Planning Khusro Bakhtiar briefed the meeting about the ongoing CPEC projects and the steps being taken to fast track their implementation. Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad briefed the meeting about the ML-1 project and its benefits for the country. On October 1, Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the amendment to the Rules of Business to place the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) under the Interior Ministry. He also took the federal cabinet into confidence over the US visit. The ministers appreciated the speech delivered by Prime Minister Imran Khan in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session. It also endorsed the decisions made by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC). It confirmed the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee for Privatization. The cabinet approved the E-Commerce Policy.
