KARACHI (92 News) – The ongoing operation in Karachi against criminals and terrorists has resulted in decrease in crime rate in the country’s economic hub. The operation against terrorists, criminals, extortionists and target killers was started on September 5, 2013 in Karachi. Sindh rangers had to run the operation due to the weaknesses and inability of the Karachi police. Morethan 10,000 criminals have been detained during 5,800 operations conduct by the Rangers since September 2013. As many as 5000 accused were handed over to the police. Sindh Rangers seized heavy amount of illegal weapons including more than 7500 weapons and 3,50,000 rounds in different operation. Rangers detained as many as 850 terrorists, more than 350 target killers, 3000 extortionists and 82 kidnapping for ransom in the operation. Rangers also recovered 50 hostages, while 380 terrorists have also been killed in different operations. Not only terrorist activities but the crime rate has decreased due to the operations of Sind Rangers.
