LAHORE (92 News) – Additional Sessions Judge Shahzad Raza sentenced Czech model Teresa to eight years and eight months in jail in a heroin smuggling case on Wednesday. The court also fined her Rs 113,000. After the verdict, she burst into tears. The 21-year-old model Teresa, belonging to Czech Republic, was taken into custody for Allama Iqbal International Airport in January 2018 when she tried to smuggle 9 kg heroin to UAE. The drugs were worth Rs 150 million in international market. Over the course of her trial, nine witnesses had recorded their statements against the accused. Since her arrest on January 10, 2018, she told the investigators that she came to Pakistan to work as a model, but someone put eight and a half kilograms of narcotics into her luggage as she was returning. Czech diplomats had provided her legal assistance.
