KARACHI (92 News) – Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy has said that visiting Pakistan is always an honour for him, adding that he is feeling good after wearing ‘Shalwar Kameez’ suit. Sammy visited Governor House Sindh and planted a sapling to support Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘Clean, Green Pakistan’ drive. Sammy was warmly welcomed by Governor Imran Ismail and thanked him for paying a visit to the governor house. He underlined the importance of plantation for a clean and secure environment. Sammy also said visiting Pakistan is always an honour for him and said he is enjoying from the culture of Pakistan. He said that he always felt proud to play for Peshawar Zalmi. On the occasion, the Sindh governor said atmosphere is electrifying due to visit of the foreign stars to Karachi for Pakistan Super League 4 matches. He continued that bulk of foreign players visit to Pakistan, shows their utmost confidence into security measures taken by Pakistan.
Darren Sammy pays visit to Quaid’s Mausoleum
Earlier today, Sammy along with the PSL franchise’s chairman Javed Afirdi paid a visit to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to pay his respects on Sunday. Garbed in a traditional shalwar kameez, Sammy entered Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's last resting place holding a flag of Pakistan and paid a tribute to the nation's founder. The Zalmi captain specifically praised the architecture of Quaid's Mausoleum and said it was wonderful. Jinnah, he added, was a great leader and that success in any field was possible with "faith, unity, and discipline" — the national motto of Pakistan as stated by the founder. “I am extremely honored to have visited the tomb of Mohammad Ali Jinnah founder and father of this great nation. A legend whose message of faith unity and discipline can make this world a much better place. I am truly inspired,” he tweeted. On the other hand, Zalmi owner Afridi said it was a historical moment to have the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in the city of Quaid.
