Dasu Dam is very beneficial for Pakistan, says PM Imran Khan

DASU (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Dasu Dam is very beneficial for Pakistan.

He was talking to foreign engineers and workers at the site of Dasu Dam after reviewing construction work on Friday.

He said that the project will generate low cost and clean power that will help reduce inflation and promote industrialization in the country. "Dasu Dam is a big project than Diamir Bhasha Dam. We should have started work on the project much before," he added.

The prime minister said that hydropower generation should have been given priority to produce cheap electricity.

The phase one of Dasu Dam will be completed by 2025, which will add 2,160 megawatts of electricity to the national grid. This capacity will increase to 4320 megawatts with the completion of its second phase by 2029.
