Death of Mullah Omar won’t influence peace talks, says Afghan Peace Council member Ismail Qasimyar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Member of Afghan Peace Council, Mohammad Ismail Qasimyar has on Wednesday said that news regarding the death of Mullah Omar will not influence the peace dialogues between Taliban and Afghan government. Talking to 92 News from Kabul, Ismail Qasimyar said that the Afghan government will not let the peace process derail at any cost because Afghanistan is well aware of the importance of the peace process. He said that the second round of dialogues will be held according to the schedule but the venue could be changed. He said that Afghanistan was in contact with Pakistan, US and China for the second round of talks, adding that the news of the death of Mullah Omar will not affect the dialogues. On the other hand, sources said that Saudi Arabian authorities held important talks with Taliban’s Mullah Akhtar Mansoor group in Makkah last week, in which they discussed important matters including the death of Mullah Omar.
