Death toll from Peshawar suicide attack rises to 63, victims buried amid sobs

PESHAWAR (92 News) - Five more people injured in the Peshawar died on Saturday, increasing the death toll to 63.

Collective funeral prayers for the martyred people were offered. Later, they were laid to rest. Moving scenes were witnessed during the burial of the victims. After the funeral, relatives of the victims staged a protest demonstration for the arrest of the attackers.

Moreover, 37 injured are being treated in different hospitals. On the other hand, the Counter Terrorism Department has registered a case of the tragic incident.

According to sources, the police have arrested two suspects. The police have also prepared sketches of the attackers and facilitators. According to the preliminary investigation report, the attacker hit the policeman with a 9mm pistol.

The joint investigation team of the police and the CTD has recorded the statements of the injured.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the authorities to utilize all state resources to arrest the facilitators and bring them to justice.
