Death toll in Dharaki train accident increases to 63, rescue operation continues

GHOTKI (92 News) – More bodies were pulled out from the broken bogies of the trains, increasing the death toll to 62.

According to the district administration, over 100 injured were shifted to hospitals in Rahimyar Khan and Pannu Aaqil. The condition of 24 injured is stated to be critical at Sheikh Zayed Hospital.

On the other hand, the rescue operation continued on the second day and both tracks could not cleared.

IG Railways Arif Nawaz Khan visited the site and monitored the relief operation. He directed the senior officers to remain at the site till the completion of the rescue operation.

Moreover, an investigation team led by Federal General Inspector Railway Furrukh Taimoor reached the spot. The team will present a report to the Minister for Railways Azam Swati after thrashing out reasons and responsible.
