"Defence Day" to be observed with zeal tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Defence and Martyrs Day will be observed across the country on Thursday (September 6). Corps Commanders Conference held in Rawalpindi with Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair have paid rich tribute to Martyrs of Pakistan. The Army Chief directed that field formation should reach out to families of martyrs in their respective areas as mark of respect and acknowledgment of their great sacrifices. All the channels chalked out elaborate programmes to pay tributes to martyrs as part of observance of Defence and Martyrs Day. ISPR DG Major General Asif Ghafoor, in his tweet, said, “Every Pakistani will be part of the campaign ‘We Love Pakistan’ reaching out to their families, home, street, mohalla, village, city, province and place of Martyrdom.” He also urged to salute the sacrifices of the courageous officers. The planning conference was informed that the main ceremony of the day would be held at General Headquarters and it would be broadcast live. On September 6, 1965, the Indian forces crossed international border in the darkness of night to attack Pakistan but ever-vigilant armed forces, solidly backed by the nation, foiled nefarious de Prime Minister Imran Khan will be the chief guest at a ceremony to be held at the Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in connection with “Denfence and Martyrs Day” on Thursday. It was confirmed by the Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry. “Prime Minister Imran Khan will grace ‘Defence and Martyrs Day’ Ceremony on 6 Sep 18 at GHQ as Chief Guest,” the minister said in his Twitter on Wednesday.
