Delay amounts to denying conduct of elections, says Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that the delay amounts to denying the conduct of the general elections.

Addressing a ceremony held on the golden jubilee celebrations of the constitution on Monday, he said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should fulfill its legal and constitutional responsibilities.

"The ECP should announce the elections date immediately before its announcement by some another institution," he added.

He said that the constitution defines the procedure of the rule of law. "The SCBA worked for the rule of the constitution. Democracy protects human rights. The SCBA has always played its role against the dictators," he added.

The PPP chairman said that the verdict on the SC Practice and Procedure Bill was a ray of hope.
