Delay in funds for polls: ECP, SBP and Finance Ministry submit reports to SC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the State Bank of Pakistan and the Finance Ministry submitted reports to the Supreme Court of Pakistan on the delay in the release of funds for the Punjab elections.

In the reports, it has been stated that funds could not be released despite the court orders. The reports carried the details of the federal cabinet decision and the parliament's refusal to release the funds.

The reports also highlighted legal aspects regarding the shifting of funds.

Earlier, the court had ordered the State Bank of Pakistan to release Rs21 billion for the elections in Punjab until April 17.
