Democracy won due to SC verdict about COAS, says PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that democracy has won due to the Supreme Court verdict about the Army Chief. Addressing a consultative meeting of the party spokespersons on Friday, he said that court had admitted the power of the parliament and the federation. “Those who expected the clash of institutions were disappointed by the court verdict,” he said. The prime minister said that mafia protecting their money also would have to face a defeat in future. “The Supreme Court verdict is the success of the government’s legal team,” he said. He said that the government is countering the mafia that wants to push the country to status quo and had been using the law for personal purposes. PM Imran Khan said that they respect the court verdict. “The PTI is the party which raised the flag of the independence of the judiciary and rule of law 23 years ago,” he said. He said that he had preferred jail to his principled stance. The prime minister also informed the spokesmen about successes gained in the economic field. “The people should be apprised of improvement in the economic indicators and economic stability achieved due to efforts of the government,” he said.
