LAHORE (92 News) – A sharp increase has been witnessed in the dengue cases in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad during the last few days.

According to a report, 171 cases have been reported in Punjab, 102 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 54 in Islamabad. Lahore reported the highest cases of 125.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid said that free medicines were being provided to the dengue and coronavirus patients.

She announced that strict action would be taken against those involved in issuing the fake vaccine card.

The minister said that the rise in dengue cases is due to a change in climate. "500 beds have reserved for the dengue patients in Lahore," she added.

She said that the coronavirus cases are decreasing in the province.
