Dengue claims two lives in Lahore, death toll increases to 129

LAHORE (92 News) – As many as two people lost their lives due to dengue fever during last 24 hours, increasing the total number of deaths to 129.

According to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare, 204 new cases of dengue cases were reported in Punjab. As per the break-up, 159 cases were reported in Lahore, 11 in Rawalpindi, seven in Gujranwala, six in Faisalabad, three in Sargodha, Sialkot and Sheikhupura, two in Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Toba Tek Singh and Vehari and one in Chakwal during the last 24 hours.

This year, the total number of dengue patients reaches to 24,250 across Punjab and 17,512 in Lahore. As many as 1,190 patients are under treatment in hospitals across the province, while 861 patients are admitted to hospitals in Lahore.

Meanwhile, the Health Department teams checked 357,559 indoor places and 84,396 across Punjab during last 24 hours. Larvae were eliminated from 230 indoor and outdoor places across Punjab. In Lahore, the Health Department teams checked 27,695 indoor and 4,949 outdoor places. Larvae were eliminated from 195 indoor and outdoor places across Punjab.
