Dengue fever claims one life in Punjab, affected dozens of people across the country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – As many as one patient has died due to dengue fever 103 new cases of dengue fever were reported in Punjab, 108 in KPK, 12 in Islamabad and 55 in Karachi during last 24 hours.

After death of one patient in Punjab, the total figure reaches 93. In this year 77 patients from Lahore, 11 from Gujranwala, 8 from Rawalpindi, 3 from Sheikhupura and one patient from Hafizabad, Kasur, Sahiwal and Sialkot were reported. Till now, 15,732 cases of dengue fever are reported from Lahore.

In all over the province 1,702 patients of dengue fever are admitted in hospitals. 1,222 patients of dengue fever are under treatment in the hospitals of Lahore. Till now, the total numbers of dengue patients have reached 21,507 in Punjab.

Meanwhile, 108 patients of dengue fever were reported in Rawalpindi during last 24 hours.

According to Islamabad district health officer, 12 patients of dengue fever were reported during last 24 hours.7 patients were reported from rural areas and 5 were reported from urban areas. Till now, 4,364 patients have become the victim of dengue fever in the city. 2,487 cases were from rural areas and 1,877 cases were from urban areas.

Furthermore, 52 patients of dengue fever were reported in Rawalpindi during last 24 hours. The total number of dengue patients reached over 3,250. Situation of 5 patients is critical in Holy Family Hospital.

According to health department, there are 274 beds available in three Government hospitals of Rawalpindi. 69 in district head quarter, 175 in Holy Family Hospital and 30 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
