Dengue fever claims two lives in Sindh, death toll jumps to 33

KARACHI (92 News) – Dengue fever on Tuesday claimed two lives including child in Sindh as death toll from the mosquito-borne disease raised into 33 during the current year. According to the reports, a three-year-old boy was undergoing treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he breathed his last, today. While, 18-years old Muhammad Ali from Hyderabad was also dead due to the dengue fever. Earlier, as many as 58 fresh cases of mosquito-borne dengue have been surfaced in Punjab as well as 231 new cases reported in Karachi. The Health Department confirmed that 150 dengue patients are under treatment in all the hospitals in Punjab. 58 fresh cases surfaced within 24 hours in Punjab while 48 patients have been discharged. According to the reports, the number of dengue fever cases has jumped to 10,747 in Sindh with the recent increase of 231 cases in Karachi. The death toll has jumped to 30 this year in Karachi. Recently, A 55-year-old woman, identified as Zahida Kausar, resident of the Federal B. Area, lost her life fighting the dengue virus at a private hospital of Karachi. A seventh-month-old child, resident of Al-Noor society, also lost the battle against dengue fever. Meanwhile, the health authorities confirmed that as many as 40 new cases of mosquito-borne fever were detected during the last 24 hours across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
