Denmark's Olesen leading in first round of Scottish Open

GULLANE - Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen made no mistakes to score a seven-under 63 and lead at Gullane on Thursday (July 9). After late play in the light Scottish evening, Daniel Brooks of Great Britain was in second place with 64. Seven players shared third place on five-under 65s. Sweden's Johan Carlsson, Alejandro Canizares of Spain with compatriot Adrian Otaegui, Seve Benson, Matthew Nixon and Richard Finch of Great Britain and Jimmy Walker of USA. Phil Mickelson of USA scored a 69 and shares 54th place. Defending champion Justin Rose shot a 66 for a share of tenth place with Rickie Fowler, Graeme McDowell, Matt Kuchar and Shane Lowry among others. –Reuters
