Dense fog, smog continue to blanket plain areas of Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – Dense fog and smog continue to blanket plain areas of Punjab on Monday causing several problems for the people. Several cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including the provincial capital’s Lahore and Peshawar, federal capital Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Okara have been engulfed in haze for the last couple of days. Traffic flow remained affected by the high intensity of fog at morning time as drivers found it difficult to move due to less visibility. Several cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including the provincial capital’s Lahore and Peshawar, federal capital Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Okara have been engulfed in haze for the last couple of days. The Motorway M-2 from Lillah interchange to Lahore, M-3 from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and M-4 from Gojra to Faisalabad have been closed for all kinds of traffic due to dense smog and zero visibility. The drivers have also been advised to reduce speed and maintain safe distance. On the other hand, smog has caused serious concerns among the public as infections of eyes, nose, ear and throat continue to mount. Increasing smog is making it hard for the people to breathe properly and with ease. Medical experts have advised the public to follow precautions and minimize their outdoor activities.
