Development of RekoDiq gold & copper mine will liberate country from crippling debt: PM
ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan says the development of RekoDiq gold and copper mine in Balochistan will liberate the country from crippling debt and usher in a new era of development and prosperity.
In a tweet on Sunday, he congratulated the whole nation and especially the people of Balochistan on successful agreement with Barrick Gold Company for development of the mine.
The Prime Minster said the agreement has been finalized after ten years of legal battle and negotiations.
He said penalty of about 11 billion dollars was off set and 10 billion dollars will be invested in Balochistan, which will create 8,000 new jobs.
He said the Rekodiq mine will potentially be the largest gold and copper mine in the world.
