ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has cancelled the diplomatic passports of former finance minister Ishaq Dar and his wife Tabassum Ishaq. The report regarding the passport cancellation was submitted in the Supreme Court by the Attorney General of Pakistan. The federal government cancelled the diplomatic passports of former finance minister Ishaq Dar and his wife Tabassum Ishaq. Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar’s Pakistani usual passport was included in the black list. After the cancellation of the passport, Dar will not be able to travel to any country. The report stated that after stepping down as the finance minister to keep diplomatic passport is illegal. The officials said the authorities took the action to pave the way for the return of Ishaq Dar, who is wanted at home in various cases. He is in currently in London. The SC sought a report from Interior Ministry on the return of the former finance minister in next hearing. A three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar will resume to hearing of Dar’s return to Pakistan on September 11. Earlier, Ishaq Dar has been declared a proclaimed absconder by the Accountability Court over his failure to appear in a case pertaining to his assets ‘beyond income’. In July, Dar was asked to surrender his passport and that of his spouse; however, the couple failed to comply with the court orders.
