Disqualification of PTI leaders' Case: ECP adjourns hearing till Jan 18

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of the reference for the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and party leader Jahangir Tareen over the absence of the lawyers. The ECP resumed the hearing of reference for the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan and party leader Jahangir Tareen but the lawyer Akram Sheikh could not appear before the court due to his health. The lawyer of Talal Chaudhry request more time from the ECP to which the member ECP Justice Altaf Qureshi remarked that the references should be withdrawn if the parties do not want take the case forward. Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza expressed anger over the absence of lawyers. The ECP adjourned hearing of reference for disqualification of Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen till 18th of this month. Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has submitted reference for disqualification against them.
