Doctors postpone strike for two days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Doctors postponed their strike for two days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday. Out Patient Departments (OPDs) were opened in all hospitals, including Lady reading, across Peshawar. Provincial Minister for Health Shaukat Yousafzai said that a delegation of doctors will meet Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on May 21. Meanwhile, the Doctors Council has formed a five-member committee to hold talks with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. After the torture of Dr Zia, the protesting doctors demanded the resignation of Health Minister Hisham Inamullah and Board of Governors Chairman Nowsherwan Burki and demanded a case against him. The provincial government has expressed the resolve to introduce reforms in government hospitals at all costs. It wants to transfer the doctors to districts from where they belong.
