Dollar reaches historic high at Rs 170.48 in interbank market

KARACHI (92 News) – The US dollar increased by 51 paisa against the rupee in the interbank market on Wednesday, reaching at Rs 170.48.

In the open market, it increased by 70 paisa and was closed at Rs 172.50.

On the other hand, the 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange reduced by 908 points and was closed at 44,366.

The dollar has increased by Rs17.77 during the last four and half months. The dollar was at Rs152.28 on May 7, 2021. As a result, the country's debt has soared by Rs 2,000 billion.
