Dollar reaches Rs 168.72 after 53-paisa increase in interbank

KARACHI (92 News) – The dollar rate reached Rs 168.72 after a 53-paisa increase in the interbank on Monday.

On the other hand, the benchmark KSE-100 index declined by 107 points to 46,528.

Experts have expressed concern over the increase in the dollar rate. They said that the government will have to stop smuggling to dollar to the neighbouring country.

"People will have to pay the price in the form of a storm of inflation if the dollar rate continued to increase," they maintained.

They advised that there is need to decrease the demand-supply difference.
