Dozens injured as Indian troops use brute force, Pakistani flags hoisted in IOK

SRINAGAR (KMS) – In Occupied Kashmir, Indian troops used brute force on protesters during Eid prayers in Srinagar, Islamabad, Kupwara and Baramulla districts on Wednesday. Indian troops and police personnel used brute force and fired pellets and teargas shells on pro-freedom rallies at Nowhatta and Soura in Srinagar, Janglat Mandi, Reeshi Bazar, Lal Chowk and Sherbagh in Islamabad, Markazi Jamia Masjid in Kupwara and Sopore in Baramulla. Immediately after Eid prayers, people in a large number took to the streets carrying flags of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir and shouted high-pitched slogans like, ‘Jeevei-Jeevei Pakistan’ and ‘We Want Freedom’ in Srinagar, Islamabad, Shopian, Pulwama, Sopore, Palhalan, Kupwara, Kishtwar and other parts of the occupied territory. Pakistani flags were hoisted in Sinagar, Kishtawar and other areas of the territory. The Pakistani flags and banners were hoisted in several areas of the Valley while the people in Kishtwar town saluted Pakistani flag. The clashes between Indian troops and protesters were going on till last reports came in. The authorities imposed restrictions in Nowhatta and other areas of downtown in Srinagar. Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen barged into the house and killed a woman identified as Nageena Jan and injured another person Jalaluddin Bafanda at Narbal in Kakapora area of Pulwama district.
