ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court sought reply from Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) Kaleem Imam within three days on inquiry report pertaining to the transfer of former Pakpattan District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Gondal. A three-member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard a suo motu notice of the former DPO's transfer. National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) chief Maher Khaliq Dad Lak submitted an inquiry report which stated that the former DPO was transferred on the basis of political meddling. The Inquiry report declared the stance of DPO Gondal as right. The report said that during the meeting at Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar's office, Ahsan Jameel Gujjar behaved in a humiliating manner and former IGP Kaleem Imam played the role of a rubber stamp. The report stated that the official in Punjab Chief Minister’s Office informed Rizawan Gondal about his transfer at night 11pm. The report said that one issue was of the Punjab chief minister's conduct and second was humiliating behavior of Ahsan Jameel. Remarking on Punjab chief minister’s close friend Ahsan Jameel Gujjar, the chief justice said that no objection on the chief minister’s conduct but how unknown person can use humiliate behavior. “Today, Ahsan Jameel Gujjar is standing with respect and issuing apologies and a day earlier his tone was different,” Justice Nisar added. The court rejected the apology of Ahsan Jameel Gujjar. During the hearing, Khawar Maneka, the former husband of Prime Minister Imran Khan's wife, with shedding tears said that whether he should have contacted PM Imran Khan or former wife, Bushra Maneka on the issue? Upon this, the top judge struck a harsh note, “You don’t need to be emotional,” remarked the judge. The top judge directed Maneka that he should submit his grievances in written form on the inquiry report. The top court directed Punjab CM, IG and Ahsan Jameel to submit reply on inquiry report within three days and fixed next hearing in next week. Earlier, reports of Gondal's transfer sparked controversy as speculation suggested that the police officer was transferred because of the August 23 altercation between police and Khawar Maneka.
