Dr Asim admitted to hospital after cardiac pain

KARACHI (92 News) – Former federal minister for petroleum Dr Asim has been admitted to a hospital in Karachi’ after he complained of cardiac pain on Tuesday. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Zardari’s close confidante Dr Asim Hussain was shifted Jinnah Hospital’s Cardiac Ward where an expert team of doctors inspected him carefully. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and senior provincial minister Nisar Khoro visited the ailing leader at the hospital. Security officials detained Dr Asim on corruption charges against him on August 28, later he was remanded for 90 days and handed over to Rangers for further investigations. Dr Asim was remanded for 90 days to Rangers custody in August after the paramilitary force had contended that they had credible information regarding the PPP leader's involvement in terrorism related activities as well as embezzlement of funds.
