Dr Yasmeen takes notice of law minister for threatening to hospital MS

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid on Monday took notice of threatening phone call of Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Raja Basharat to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital Medical Superintendent’s (MS) Dr Tariq Mehmood Khan Niazi. The minister directed to Rawalpindi Medical University Prof Umar for presenting a report on the matter. She also said that the incumbent government has policy to stop the political interference to the departmental affairs. A day earlier, a telephonic conversation between Raja Basharat and hospital MS went viral on Sunday. In a call recording, the law minister threatened the MS over the alleged disregard of his orders of the transfer of a female medical officer. Raja Basharat telephoned the medical superintendent and threatened him for disobeying his order. In the recording, the minister can be heard speaking loudly to the MS, saying that the lady doctor must be sent to the skin department or ready for dire consequences. It can also be heard in the recording that the MS was apologizing.
