Dr Yasmin urges people to get vaccinated ignoring rumours

KARACHI (92 News) – Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Sunday urged the people not to believe in rumors and get vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19).

Addressing press conference, the health minister said that announced that the vaccination process in the Punjab province has been expedited. “180,000 people have been vaccinated in the province during the last 24 hours and the Corona situation will start improving once 50 percent of the 110 million population of the province is vaccinated,” She added.

Rejecting vaccine shortage, she said that they had 1.8 million doses of COVID jabs available with them and as per reports 30 million more doses would reach Pakistan in the next few months.

“We will be vaccinating 400,000 people in a day by next month,” she said adding that the province would also place an order of vaccine worth Rs1.5 billion.

COVID-19 positivity ratio

Dr Yasmin Rashid on Sunday has said that the COVID-19 positivity ratio across the province has reduced to two percent. She said that parks and tombs have been opened however, indoor wedding events are still banned. "The markets will remain close on Saturdays and Sundays," she added.

Dr Yasmin said that the coronavirus pandemic can be controlled by implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs). The vaccination process across the province has been sped up, she added.
