Dr Zafar Mirza admits lack of ideal facilities at Taftan border quarantine

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has admitted that there was lack of ideal facilities at Taftan border quarantine. Addressing a press conference on Monday, he said that the coronvirus patients increased due to arrival of devotees from Iran. “By Sunday, the number of patients was 54, which has now doubled during last 24 hours,” he said. Dr Zafar Mirza said that coronavirus has spread to 147 countries. “In total, 172,000 have been affeteced by the virus. However, there is no need to worry about the figure,” he said. He lauded the steps taken by the Sindh government to curb cornoavirus. The special assistant said that a command and control centre had been etsbalished to control coronavirus. “The government will daily release the statistics about the epidemic at 5pm,” he said. Meanhwile, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Lango said that the provincial government had not happlily kept the people in quarantine. “We are doing what we could do,” he said. He also visited the quarantine established at Mian Ghundi.
