Dr Zafar Mirza says no coronavirus case in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar has claimed that there is no coronavirus in the country. Talking to the media on Monday, he said that tests were conducted on seven suspected cases, which turned out to be negative. He said that Pakistan had taken all precautionary measures for protection of the coronavirus. “Pakistan has gained kits for diagnosis of the coronavirus. The death rate in the disease is very low. Only three patients, out of 100, die in the disease.” The special assistant said that no person can enter Pakistan without observation. “All passengers coming from China are being medically examined thoroughly,” he said. He said that they had completed consultation with the provinces with regard to coronavirus. Dr Zafar Mirza said that coronavirus is a new one and efforts are being made search the treatment and vaccine for it. Meanwhile, the Chinese ambassador said that that health of four affected Pakistanis is improving. “Over 500 persons affected by coronavirus have recovered,” he said. Earlier on February 1, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza said that government has continuously been in touch with the Chinese government and embassy. “The steps taken by the Chinese government are beneficial to the people,” he said. He said that they would get the kits for diagnosis of coronavirus by today evening. “We are doing all that should have been done,” he added. Dr Zafar Mirza said that coronavirus spreading fast and hundreds of cases are emerging daily. “So far 249 people have died due to coronavirus, which has spread to 27 countries,” he said. He said that they are satisfied with the look after of Pakistanis in Wuhan. “Elaborate steps will be taken after the resumption of flights from China. The Foreign Office has made arrangements for extension in the visas of Pakistanis in China,” he added. The special assistant said that the government is launching a campaign to aware the Pakistanis of coronavirus. “The condition of four Pakistanis affected by the virus has improved. They cannot return to Pakistan till confirmation of negativity of coronavirus,” he said. Dr Zafar Mirza said that health is their top priority and they will have to make Pakistanis safe.
