ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has warned those launching the anti-Pakistan propaganda on the social media and vowed that each kind of mafias will be crushed with the support of the nation.

Addressing the National Farmers Convention on Friday, he said that environment of frenzy, disappointment and chaos was being created on the social media. "Negative rumours about Pakistan are being spread on the social media. Through fake news, the impression is being given as if the state has lost its entity. You should know that only two states were created in the name of the Kalma – Riyasat-e-Tayyaba and Pakistan – which is not just a coincidence," he declared.

COAS Asim Munir said that Pakistan is rich in resources. "Pakistan has glaciers, rivers, mountains and fertile land. The world's best rice, kino and mango grow here. It also has reserves of granite, gold and copper," he added.

He said that agriculture is a prophetic profession. "This profession include discipline, pain, growth and patience that result in uncountable rewards. In the Green Pakistan Initiative Programme, the army's role is to serve the people and farmers. A major portion of the income earned from the programme will be given to the provinces and the remaining amount will be reserved for farmers and agriculture research," he announced. The COAS said that agriculture malls will be established in all districts to provide agriculture facilities to farmers.

During his address, the farmers chanted the slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' and 'Pakistan Zindabad'.

Speaking on the occasion, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said that agriculture held immense importance for socio-economic development of the country at the grassroots level.

The prime minister appreciated the collaborative work of ministries and departments for achieving various milestones under the umbrella of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and stressed the need to expedite various initiatives.
