ECC announces to launch a crackdown against electricity theft

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of cabinet on Monday announced to launch a crackdown against electricity theft. As per details, It has been decided to disconnect electricity connections of consumers who fail to pay bills for three months. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Committee, chaired by Finance Minister Asad Umar. The meeting decided to install prepaid electricity meters. Asad Umar expressed reservations on increasing the prices of fertilization. It was also decided that an operational and financial audit of energy sector will be conducted.
