ECC approves export of sugar up to 100,000 metric tons

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Thursday approved the export of sugar up to 100,000 metric tons.

The decision was made during a meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair.

The ECC granted permission to export sugar on the summary of the Food Security Ministry. According to the declaration, the export of more sugar can be allowed after reviewing the available stock. It was further decided that the ECC will review the situation on fortnightly basis.

The ECC further directed and Pakistan Sugar Mills Association committed that the existing price of sugar will not increase in domestic market at least till January 31 next.

Meanwhile, the ECC also approved Technical Supplementary Grants worth Rs seven million in favour of Ministry of Climate Change and over Rs 743 million in favour of Ministry of Housing and Works for execution of its development schemes.
