ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar has said that the economy was put at stake for economic stability, but they would not repeat it. Winding up the budget discussion in the National Assembly on Tuesday, he said that those holding them accountable for 10 months should present themselves for accountability of 40-year rule. He said that the government would continue to seek accountability from the past rulers till improvement in economy. “We need revenue of Rs8 billion and presently we cannot collect more than Rs4 billion,” he said. The minister claimed that they had reduced the circular debt by Rs142 billion. “The government in collaboration with the provinces will spend Rs1,000 billion in FATA during 10 years. An amount of Rs 280 billion will be spent on the agriculture sector,” he said.
