Economy robbed during era of 'selected', says Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the economy was robbed during the era of the 'selected'.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of golden jubilee celebrations of the Constitution of 1973 at Parliament House on Monday, he said that Imran Khan was ready to hold talks with terrorists, but not with his political opponents.

"Imran Khan continued to use the institutions for personal interests while sitting in the chair of the prime minister," he maintained.

He said that Imran Khan had made decisions through political extremism. "For this reason, he is sitting out of the parliament. "The thought that I will neither play nor allow anyone to play," he added.

APP adds: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the country’s leadership and other stakeholders to develop a ‘national consensus’ to confront challenges posed by the economy and others.  

He said that the PPP CEC had decided to constitute a committee and assigned it task to evolve consensus among stake holders on devising code of conduct for resolving all issues of the country and moving forward with the aim to resolving issues of the countrymen.

He said that the PPP committee would approach all political parties for devising rules of the game to contest polls and smooth functioning of the country. "Political parties should come on one page to overcome crises being confronted the country," he added.

Bilawal said the stubborn attitude of Imran Khan and his non-cooperation was damaging the interests of masses. He said that for smooth running of the country, rules of the games must be devised and all stakeholders must agree on it for smooth functioning of the country.
