ECP asks NADRA to provide voters’ data without biometric record
September 27, 2017
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has asked National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) to provide data of the voters whose biometric record is not available with the authority. The ECP has written a letter to NADRA and summoned data of the voters whose biometric record is not available with the authority. The commission also referred to the by-election in NA-120 Lahore in its letter. NADRA failed to provide the biometric data of more than 29,000 voters. The appeal has been made in the backdrop of objections raised by the PTI candidate, Dr. Yasmin Rashid NA-120 about non-availability of twenty-nine thousand six-hundred and seven voters of the constituency. The Commission asked NADRA to provide district, constituency, tehsil and census block-wise statistics of all voters present in the computerized Electoral Rolls System.
