ECP desires no load shedding on July 25

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday asked Ministry of Water and Power to ensure continuous supply of electricity across Pakistan on the election day July 25. As per details, the electoral body has wrote a letter to the Ministry of Water and Power, asking it to ensure refrain from carrying out load-shedding on the election day and till the completion of counting votes. In the letter, the ECP wrote that the ministry should inform all the headquarters for continuous supply of electricity on July 25 in upcoming polls. According to the ECP, a total of 3, 459 candidates are contesting for 272 general seats of the National Assembly while 8,396 candidates are up for 577 general seats of the four provincial assemblies. 1, 623 candidates will fight from Punjab, 824 from Sindh, 725 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 287 from Balochistan for the national assembly seats.
