ECP extends date for submitting nomination papers until Dec 24

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday extended the date for filing the nomination papers until December 24.

According to the revised scheduled for the general elections, the candidates can submit their until December 24.

The PML-N, the PPP, the MQM, JUI-F and the BAP had demanded an extension in the date for submitting the nomination papers. The list of candidates will be published on December 24.

The last date for scrutiny of the nomination papers by the returning officers has been extended from December 25 to December 30. The last date for filing the appeals against decisions of the returning officers is January 3. The appellant tribunals will decide the appeals by January 10.

The revised list of the candidates will be published on January 11. The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by January 12. The election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on January 13. The elections for National and provincial assemblies will be held simultaneously across the country on February 8.
