ECP issues code of conduct for Punjab Assembly elections

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday issued the code of conduct for the Punjab Assembly elections.

According to the 63-point code of conduct, the president, the prime minister, ministers and public office-holders will not be able to take part in the election campaign.

There will be a ban on conversation about the judiciary and Pakistan ideology during the campaign.

All political parties will allot five percent tickets to female candidates on the general seats. Moreover, there will be a ban on the display of weapons during rallies and public gatherings.

No party will be allowed to run the election campaign from the national exchequer.
