ECP issues contempt of court notice to Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Monday issued contempt of court notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and sought reply until February 21. A five-member bench of the ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan heard the embezzlement in PTI party funds case. During the proceedings, Akbar S Babar filed a contempt petition against PTI chairman Imran Khan. The ECP issued notice to the PTI chairman asking him to file his reply till February 21. Talking to media outside the ECP, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Daniyal Aziz said that Imran Khan is leveling baseless allegation, adding that he has made the country’s politics ‘politics of allegations’. Daniyal Aziz said Imran Khan is trying to escape from the court.
