ECP issues notice to PML-N for failing to elect party president

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Tuesday issued notice to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for failing to elect party’s president in the fixed time.
The ECP has asked Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal to appear in person or through a counsel on October 3 and submit reply in the tribunal.
The ECP issued notice to PML-N for non completion of the process for election of party President within the stipulated timeframe.
The Commission had directed the ruling party to appoint a new president of the party as according to the Political Parties Order 2002, a disqualified MNA cannot hold any position in the party.
