ECP issues schedule for holding local government polls in three phases in Punjab & Sindh

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued a schedule for holding the local government elections in three phases in Punjab and Sindh on Tuesday. According to the schedule, the first phase in Punjab and Sindh will start on November 14, 2015. The second and third phases will start on November 29 and December 19, 2015. In the first phase in Punjab, the polls will be held in Lodhran, Vehari, Okara, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujrat, Attock and Rawalpindi. In the second phase, the elections will be held in Kahnewal, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Khushab, Mianwali, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahahuddin, Chakwal and Jhelum. In the third phase, the polls will be held in Pakpattan, Layyah, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Jhang, Bhakkar, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Rahimyar Khan and Multan. In the first phase in Sindh, the elections will be held in Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Larkana, Qambar, Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Kashmor. In the second phase in Sindh, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushehro Feroze, Dadu, Matiari, Jamshoro, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Thattha, Jawal, Badin, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar and Mirpur Khas. In the third phase, the elections will be held in Karachi and Hyderabad.
