ECP orders re-election in PK-95, earlier won by Jamaat-e-Islami
ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday discarded the result of PK-95 by-election in Lower Dir and ordered re-polling in the constituency.
As per reports, the ECP declared the results void on account of women in the constituency not being allowed to exercise their right to vote.
Earlier, Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Aizazul Mulk emerged victorious from the constituency after securing 20,000 votes followed by Awami National Party’s (ANP) Haji Bahadur Khan who won 16,439 votes when JI chief Sirajul Huq vacated the seat after being elected Senator.
