ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reserved the verdict on the disqualification case of Senator Faisal Vadwa.

The counsel for Faisal Vadwa submitted his birth certificate in Election Commission. “Before submitting nomination papers, Faisal Vadwa had got his foreign passport cancelled."

He stated that Faisal Vadwa was not now a member of the National Assembly, then how he can be disqualified on this application? "Qadir Mandokhail deliberately approached the wrong forum for a media trail.”

The chief election commissioner questioned the counsel whether the passport cancellation means his citizenship had ended. The counsel replied that the returning officer order started that Faisal Vawda's passport was cancelled.

Talking to the media after the hearing, Faisal Vadwa said that all the legal requirements were met before the elections. "I answered with proofs to the questions put by the ECP," he added.

PPP leader Qadir Mandokhel has filed a petition against Senator Faisal Vadwa for his disqualification due to his dual citizenship.
