ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday strongly rejected the rigging allegations levelled by Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha.

In a statement, the ECP spokesman announced to launch an inquiry into the matter. "No ECP officer had directed the Rawalpindi commissioner to change the election results. Neither commissioner is appointed as DRO, RO and presiding officer nor does the commissioner has a direct role in the conduct of the elections," he clarified.

On the other hand, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has taken notice of the allegations, ordering impartial investigations into them. "Real facts will be brought before the nation," he added.
