ECP suspends membership of 77 lawmakers elected on extra reserved seats

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday suspended membership of 77 lawmakers elected on extra reserved seats.

A notification in this regard has been issued. The ruling alliance suffered a severe setback due to the suspension of the 77 parliamentarians in the National Assembly and four provincial assemblies.

Meanwhile, a notification regarding suspension of 24 women and three minority MPAs has been issued in the Punjab Assembly.

On the other hand, the membership of three MPAs has been suspended in the Sindh Assembly. In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the membership of 25 MPAs who had not yet taken the oath has been suspended.
