ECP takes notice of Imran Khan, Shehbaz Sharif's media talk

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday took notice of PTI chief Imran Khan and pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif's  media speech. As per details garnered, the electoral body stated that the live telecast of Imran and Shehbaz's speech after casting vote is a violation of the election code of conduct. Imran Khan also violated the electoral body's code of conduct for publically stamping on the symbol of "bat". Meanwhile, the ECP has also issued notices to the channels for coverage of their speech. The electoral body has also directed media channels to not air live media talks of candidates as long as polling is under way. On the other hand, the ECP has taken the notice of PML-N leader Khawaja Asif’s press talk after casting his vote in Sialkot. The ECP asserted that the action will be taken as per law over violation of the code of conduct. Polling began at 8am in the morning and will conclude at 6pm in the evening. The nation will elect 270 members of the National Assembly and 570 members of all the four provincial assemblies for the next five-year term today.
